Description: Bubble.jpgDO I REALLY NEED TO COME OUT OF MY OFFICE 2003 BUBBLE ?

John Porter once said...

People underestimate their capacity for change. There is never a right time to do a difficult thing".

Let’s face it, I like Office 2003, it’s comfortable. I know where to find everything and even though there are things I wish it could do, the thought of something so radically different in look and feel, as Office XP is far too scary. After all how much better can this new version be?

For those brave souls who threw caution to the wind and upgraded to Office 2007, what was that silly orb button in the top left corner and what were we supposed to do with it?  Most people assumed it was just a logo and never used it. The new ribbon feature meant that there was an entirely new logic as to where to find commands and features, which meant new training and anticipated problems.

Good news, Office 2010 has done away with the button and returned to the “File Menu”. Although the ribbon is still firmly in place, it is a whole lot better organised and most importantly it is customisable which means it can work the way you want it to.

In fact there are so many great new features, it seems that Microsoft have actually listened to their users this time and made a version that works, for all of us, this time.

Whatever version you’re on, take the time to get some training to make sure you’re getting the most out of Microsoft Office.

Pass me a pin, I think my bubble needs popping.
